CBO Is Always Wrong
The federal government always relies on the Congressional Budget
Office (CBO) to tell them how much a given program is going to cost
before they pass it into law. But the
CBO has never been right, any time in it's existence,
for one reason: they don't realize that taxes CAUSE human action.
They think it's a “zero sum game,” and that placing a tax on
something does NOT cause people to change their habits to avoid it.
You place a tax on something and people do things differently
regarding that tax. Example: back when the highest tax rate
approached 100%, people were starting foundations and placing many of
their properties and possessions (and profits) into that foundation
to avoid those taxes. CBO ignores that, and thus is ALWAYS wrong in
their assessments. But the government continues to rely on their
erroneous assessments, to their detriment. (American Thinker)
