"Sharia Law" Spreading in England

Like A plague spreading across the land, Islamic law, known as "Sharia Law" is spreading across England and there doesn't seem to be much the English authorities can do about it. 'Dr Prakash Shah, a senior lecturer in law at Queen Mary University of London, said such tribunals 'could be more effective than the formal legal system'. In his book 'Islam in Britain', Patrick Sookhdeo, director of the Institute for the Study of Islam and Christianity, says there is an 'alternative parallel unofficial legal system' that operates in the Muslim community on a voluntary basis. 'Sharia courts now operate in most larger cities, with different sectarian and ethnic groups operating their own courts that cater to their specific needs according to their traditions,' he says. These are based on sharia councils, set up in Britain to help Muslims solve family and personal problems". If we allow this to continue as more and more Islamic people emigrate, sheer numbers will allow them to win the war for "converts" to Islam by "bringing the sword" to their attempts to spread Islam by FORCE. For my part, any attempt to FORCE me to convert to Islam will be met with force. (London Telegraph,)

LONDONISTAN
The article at the Telegraph was over a year old and written by Joshua Rosenberg, husband of Melanie Phillips, who has long campaigned against "Londonistan". There are still some of us who are holding out. Honestly!

SHARIA LAW & THE ARCHBISHOP
I assume you have read the Archbishop of Canterbury's bit of fun and games on Sharia law? At least he was castigated by all, and conversely to his intentions people are now more aware of the issues than they were before.

Apart, it would seem from Gordon Brown's government, who still take the softly, softly approach.(Blair's attempt to get his party to crack down on the islamists within our midst and his hard-line language towards terrorism, added to the reasons he had to go, imho).

When it comes to the question of "liberals" and their ideas of freedom - here in the UK we have problems throughout society. It's endemic, and led by the press. And to think I'd have classed myself as 'liberal' not that long ago. Not any more.

KILL BLAIR, PLEASE, AL QAEDA
For example I have been having a battle royal with a lawyer who, at his blog, urged Al Qaeda to assassinate Tony Blair. If only they can manage this, the legal man said, then we, the British people would be so grateful for this "small favour" that we would re-assess our opinion of AQ!

Sounds like a joke - if a sick one. Not quite.

This breaks a recent Terrorism Act (2006) - incitement & glorification of terror.

This seriously nasty piece of work repeated his calls, denied any wrongdoing and insulted those on my side of the argument. Then his site mysteriously disappeared after I raised concerns to varius quarters. He blamed this on a DOS attack. But after that disappearance he posted mcuh the same remarks - incitement to assassination of a public figure -at my blog.

You can see it here:

http://keeptonyblairforpm.wordpress.com/2008/02/04/uk-barrister-urges-al-qaeda-to-kill-tony-blair/

My present worry is that we seem to be unable to stop this kind of incitement being posted on the internet without censure. NOT one of his legal commenters said he had been unwise.

I'd be pleased to hear back from anyone in the USA as to how this would be dealt with under your jurisdiction.

Here, in this land where liberals constantly bemoan their 'loss of civil rights' in this 'police state' no-one seems willing to do anything about it. They'll wait till an atrocity happens, and then test the law. Then they'll amend the law, ignore its contravention again - until another atrocity ...

And the opposition party - the Conservatives - on this matter? All quiet. They're all running scared of 5% of the population!

Blair Supporter:

Sorry. My quadruple bypass caused me to get behind on some of my posts, although it has been my experience that a year doesn't make a lot of difference in such things as the "spread of Sharia Law" in England.

I heard about the Archbishop's idiocy and I've even commented on it in my other main blog, "The New THOMA$ REPORT." I hope he will be sufficiently dealt with.

"Cracking down on the Islamists" (the extremist kind) is somet6hing we MUST do, both in GB and the US, or they will ultimately kill us.

I understand "liberal" means something quite different in the UK than it does in the US.

We have people like that legal ass here, too, unfortunately. But they can't be "shut down" as, apparent;ly, yours has because of his attempt to get the PM murdered by extremist Islamists. I have the ability to kill posts such as his. I hope you do, too.

Of course, it would be easy for him to start a new blog, unless he is in prison for subversion by now.

In the US, there is nothing that could be done about him unless he is judged to be guilty of a crime in what he writes. Such as "inciting murder."

I'll check out your blog. If I like it, I'll put it on my blog list.
