Schumer Doesn't Understand

Senator Schumer (Democrat, of course) apparently doesn't understand how the Constitution works. He thinks you can routinely violate it in an “emergency.” He says other constitutional measures have been ignored “in an emergency,” and he's right. But that doesn't make it legal. Politicians routinely violate the Constitution when it pleases them, because the Founders failed to prescribe a PUNISHMENT for doing so. They only provided for a reversal of an unconstitutional action, not a PUNISHMENT for the politician who did it, or TRIED to do it. Schumer, who is in the business of making laws, really should understand how the Constitution, on which ALL our laws are based, works. But he doesn't. He thinks you can legally violate it, just by declaring an “emergency.” Then you make a "statute." Fortunately, you can't negate a constitutional right by making a statute. the Constitution is a SUPERIOR form of law to a statute in America. (National Review)
