Why Fly Over Ukraine?
I’ve asked that question, and
here is the answer. It would take more fuel and make flights more costly. Seems
to mean having to pay a little more to go around an area where you might be
shot down is a lot better than losing expensive airplanes and…oh yeah, maybe a
few customers, too. It would take a little more time, too. This is the kind of
thinking that KILLS people. People who don’t realize how their lives are being
put in danger by airline execs who are putting their “bottom line” before their
customer’s bottoms. “So they got shot down. So what? We lost an airliner!” And
a few people get killed. So what? It’s not like the airlines weren’t warned,
and most of them did, in fact, reroute their airplanes and make the requisite
changes in plane fares. That means charging more money, folks. Is it cheaper to
go ahead and fly over war zones where you might get KILLED? Probably; even if you DO lose an occasional
airplane. Apparently SOME airline execs don’t care much about killing all those
people. (Sacramento Bee)
