Castro Quits (?)
Does anybody believe that will make any difference to the citizens of that "island prison" called Cuba? Will his political prisoners be released? Will he let Elian Gonzales out of his "island prison?" Will Cuba's government renounce communism or collectivism? (same thing, different name) I'll believe things will change in Cuba when his entire regime is overthrown and he and his brother are dead (maybe soon). Then only when I see a real capitalist society emerging. Resigning the presidency means nothing if you're Fidel Castro. Especially with your brother sitting in the seat formerly held by you. Does he really think his "enemies" will back off on their enmity because he "says" he's quitting? Is "communism dead in Russia?" Not even! Are the same people who "used to be communists" still running things in that socialist state? It didn't happen in Russia and it won't happen in Cuba until Fidel and all his communist friends are dead or thrown out of the country (I prefer the former rather than the latter because as long as they are alive somewhere, they're a danger to freedom.). We all know that if it weren't for the large Cuban-American community we would be selling as many coca-colas and McDonald's hamburgers as we could in Cuba. The political prisoner concern is a joke. We would love to get further into bed with the communist Chinese which execute political dissidents, but will bully a tiny island community. It is government hipocracy at its best.
