Orwellian "Double Speak"
In George Orwell’s “1984,” the government had what was called, “newspeak,” but what it was, was “double-speak,” where just the opposite of what was said was the truth. We’re getting to that point today in our OWN society. For instance: The government in Maryland touts its “spending cuts,” but strangely, taxes have gone up! “Taxes increased: Income taxes, property taxes, flush taxes, rain taxes, fuel taxes, toll taxes, sales taxes, vehicle taxes, food and beverage taxes, bottle taxes, bag taxes, title taxes, death taxes, healthcare taxes. You name it. This raises an interesting question. If the government is making all of these ‘spending cuts,’ why is the government continuing to grow, and why are taxes continuing to increase?” Politicians think we’re too stupid to realize this, so they continue to LIE to us and expect us to believe it. In fact, they operate as if their words were true and ridicule us of we point out their lies. Any politician who ridicules his voters should be removed from office, immediately, for stupidity.
