There are many people, some in powerful government offices, who are stupid enough to believe that defunding the police because they have killed somebody (usually in self defense, but they don’t care about that). Politicians have killed more people with their incompetent policies than police have killed, period. But nobody is even thinking about defunding politicians so they can’t kill any more people with their incompetence.
