Don't Fall For It

One of the oldest scams the Democrats use to con Republicans into tax increases is to promise SPENDING CUTS “some time in the future.” But he future spending cuts never come. This scam was used on Ronald Reagan and George Bush (the senior) that I know of, and it cost Bush re-election. It also gave the Democrats the right to say Reagan raised taxes, too. I don’t know how many times it was used on Bush the younger, but they spent a lot of money and raised taxes a LOT during his administration. It’s like the old “Peanuts” strip where Lucy cons Charlie Brown into kicking the ball, then pulls it away as he kicked it, causing him to fall down. They pull it time after time and politicians on both sides fall for it, almost by rote. They’re trying it right now on the Republicans—and the Republicans are showing signs of falling for it again. (Just common sense)
