Where Do You Get That?

Brian Williams, of NBC Nightly News had the temerity to ask new Majority Leader Bohner where he got it that America wanted Obama’s health care swindle repealed, saying polls show the country is “equally divided” on the subject. What I want to know, what polls has he been watching, and what polls has he been IGNORING? Hasn’t he (Williams) been LISTENING to America? Obviously not. They say it represents a half billion in savings. Over WHAT? They don’t say. Meanwhile they have been quietly giving “selected” businesses “waivers” because they just can’t afford the higher rates they will have to pay because of this law and Obama can't have that happening before the 2012 election. I heard on the news over the weekend that it looks like Obama will win re-election by a landslide. That is according to the "polls". What polls? Nobody ever asks me! Who are these people being polled who suddenly give him 47% approval - - like over night???? Obama's twist of the meaning of the election that Americans are telling him they want both sides to work together seems to be quietly slipping into mainstream belief. How the hell did that happen. That is certainly NOT what my vote meant! My vote meant, "At my next voting opportunity, you're out, Obama!"

Anon: They "Get That" where they get most of the bull crap they feed us like it was truth. They CREATE the "polls" to say what they want, and thereby MAKE the news, hoping people will believe "the big lie." NEVER believe what they TELL you are the results of the various "polls" they cite. Twisting the meaning of things is how they get around what we're telling them.

If Osama - - excuse me, Obama, is re-elected, landslide or other wise, I would wish to leave this country. The trouble, there is no country any better to which I could go, not even Canada. Dang!

Anon: that's my problem, too. Good thing I'm old.

I'm old, too. Not sure if that is a good thing or not. Is it good to be old and feible (which I am not feible yet) and less able to fend for myself in a country that is going to hell in a handcart?

Anon: I'm not feeble, either. That's what liberals hate about me. They can't call me feeble because I'm usually "right on" in my criticisms. I DO have a bit of trouble getting around sometimes. But I don't use a cane yet. Hmmm; maybe I should.

I think our government has a rude awakening coming where "feeble Baby Boomers" are concerned. We were the 60s kids who changed things. Boomers will change the face of "retirement" too, by continuing to be a thorn in the side of government, standing up for what we believe, watching what the government is doing like hawks, remaining active in the work force, and mentoring the "youngins" coming up behind us.

Anon: Gawd, I hope so!

I know I will be, and I know a lot of other Boomers who, like me, are not your "average retiring" Boomers, certainly not our parents' sort of boomers. AARP does not speak to us at all. That organization is entirely usless to me. They belong to my parents' generation - - or maybe my grandparents'.

Anon: I haven't been with AARP for over a year when I went to their competition.

I have not been with them for many years and they are still sending me promotional materials, trying to get me to re-up. Recently I received a mailing that actually said, "This is your final notice." I certainly hope so!

I have been thinking of going to their competition as well.

Anon: I get something in the mail every day from AARP. I have been getting my "final notice" from them for years. They just don't give up. I hope the money they spend on people like me bankrupts them.

When I get junk mail that has a paid return envelope I send it back empty because it costs THEM money.

Anon: I only do that with companies that are particularly annoying; like AARP. I used to be in the mail order business. My customers were other mail order businesses. One time I sent the Teamsters a box of their newspapers back, along with a brick, collect for postage. They never bothered me again.

I have heard of others doing that. That is hilarious. I am surprised they did not send the brick literally flying back at you. They are gangsters, after all.

Anon: That would be too much like work.
