But then, we already knew that when he said “The goal is not to eradicate the Taliban.” But eradicating not only the Taliban, but all species of Islamic terrorists is the ONLY way to eliminate the threat from Islamic militant terrorists. They will promise you anything, but will not change their ways, which is to kill EVERYBODY who does not believe exactly the same as they do. If you convert to Islam and then change your mind, they will KILL you, and that is LAWFUL under Islamic regimes. Islamic terrorists are like roaches. Shine a light on them, they scurry quickly out of the light, but come back to do their “dirty work” as soon as you quit looking. Don’t let them con you into looking the other way.
