Why Did Republicans Lose?

We were all excited about what was going to happen when the Republicans “took over” the Congress in 2004, but it didn’t happen. Republicans, instead of “changing Washington,” let Washington change THEM! They decided that being invited to the best parties and pleasing the liberals was more important than stopping “pork barrel” spending, and the result was predictable: they lost the majority and now Democrats will do everything they can to make government bigger (all the time couching it in such terms as to fool the public and make them think that they’re doing something good) while moving us closer and closer to socialism. That’s their mission, and nothing we can do, short of removing them (and their unelected cohorts in the bureaucracy and academia) from office and hope upcoming Republicans have learned from what happened before.
